Two technologists. One newborn son. And a paper booklet that made no sense.
When our son David was born, we did what every African parent does — we were handed a Road to Health booklet and told to keep it safe. As two people who work in technology every day, we looked at each other and asked the same question: why is this still a book?
Not because the booklet is wrong. It is a trusted, important part of African healthcare. But because a paper record gets lost, gets wet, gets left at home on the one day you need it most. Because a mother should not have to remember the exact date of the last vaccination at 2am. Because a father at work should be able to see how his baby slept last night without making a phone call.
We built Little Steps Africa for David — and for every parent, grandparent, and caregiver in every village across this continent. Because it takes a village to raise a child, and your village deserves better tools.
