Community Guidelines
Little Steps Africa is built around the African "village"—trusted family and helpers supporting a child's journey. These guidelines keep that space respectful, private, and safe.
1. Our village values
- Respect: every caregiver contributes to the child's wellbeing—honour different parenting styles within the bounds of safety and consent.
- Privacy: what is logged in the app stays within the invited village unless the account owner chooses to export or share it.
- Accuracy: log entries should reflect what actually happened to help the whole care team stay aligned.
- Support, not judgment: this is a tool for coordination, not criticism.
2. Who can join your village
Invite only people who have a legitimate caregiving relationship, such as:
- Parents and guardians
- Grandparents and close family
- Nannies, au pairs, or domestic workers with the parent's permission
- Other trusted helpers the account owner approves
Do not post invite codes publicly on social media, WhatsApp groups with strangers, or community forums.
3. Acceptable behaviour
- Log care activities truthfully and in a timely manner.
- Use respectful language in notes and voice transcriptions.
- Follow the account owner's wishes about what to record.
- Notify parents of anything urgent outside the app (calls, in person)—the app is not a live monitor.
4. Prohibited behaviour
- Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory remarks about family members or other caregivers.
- Sharing screenshots, exports, or invite codes outside the trusted circle without consent.
- Using access to spy on or control another adult without their knowledge.
- Uploading inappropriate, sexual, or violent content.
- Commercial solicitation or spam.
- Attempting to access babies or accounts you were not invited to.
5. Account owner responsibilities
If you created the baby profile, you are responsible for:
- Deciding who receives caregiver access.
- Revoking access when someone no longer cares for your child.
- Ensuring invited caregivers understand these guidelines.
6. Enforcement
Violations may result in removal of caregiver access, account suspension, or permanent termination. Serious breaches may be reported to authorities. To report a concern, email info@littlesteps.africa.
7. Related policies
These guidelines supplement our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Safety information.
